- 1 cup frozen pepper and onion blend, thawed, drained, and patted dry
- 1 cup Prego® Chunky Tomato, Basil & Garlic Italian Sauce or Traditional
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 package (about 13.8 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust dough
- 12 slices pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded pizza cheese blend or mozzarella cheese (about 4 ounces)
Instructions
-
Step 1
Heat the oven to 400°F. While the oven is heating, cook the beef in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring often to separate meat.
-
Step 2
Add peppers and onions and cook until the beef is well browned. Pour off any fat. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in the sauce and heat to a boil. Remove the skillet from the heat.
-
Step 3
Brush the oil on the inside of a 10-inch cast iron skillet. Unroll the dough. Press the dough into the bottom and up the sides of the skillet.
-
Step 4
Top the dough with the beef mixture, pepperoni and cheese.
-
Step 5
Bake for 20 minutes or until the crust is a deep golden brown (if the crust is getting too dark cover loosely with aluminum foil).
-
Step 6
Let the pizza cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully remove from the hot skillet to a cutting board. Cut and serve with additional sauce, if desired.
